Fábio Vieira Reflects on Successful Loan at Hamburg and Future Prospects

In an exclusive interview with Bild, Vieira was asked about the possibility of continuing with HSV after the summer. “I don’t yet have any idea what will happen at the end of the season,” he stated. “My focus is on HSV, but I have a contract with Arsenal until 2027, and I intend to honor that.”

Hamburg holds a €20 million purchase option for Vieira, and the club is considering renegotiating the terms with Arsenal to reduce the transfer fee.

If Merlin Polzin’s team can avoid relegation, there is a chance that Vieira could extend his stay at HSV. “Staying in Hamburg is one of the options,” he noted.

Vieira expressed his fondness for the city, stating, “I really like the city; it’s very beautiful, and there is a large Portuguese community here. Whenever I crave Portuguese culture or cuisine, I can easily visit the Portuguese quarter, which helps me feel at home.”
