omidbasir- Multiple reputable football media outlets are reporting that Bayer Leverkusen has successfully secured the signing of Serbian youth international Aleksa Damjanovic. The 17-year-old striker is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at his new Bundesliga club this Thursday. The terms of the transfer between Leverkusen and Red Star Belgrade are reported to be in the €8 million range, including bonuses.

According to Fabrizio Romano and other sources, the base transfer fee for Damjanovic will amount to €5 million, with an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses to be paid over the course of his three-year contract in the Bundesliga. For each season in which the young forward makes 25 competitive appearances, a bonus of €1 million will be owed to Red Star. Furthermore, the Serbian champions have negotiated a re-sale clause as part of the agreement.

Having just turned 17 this past December, Damjanovic has already achieved significant success, winning the Serbian youth league title twice with the Red Star U17 team. Last season, he showcased his scoring prowess by netting an impressive 49 goals in 47 competitive matches. In addition to his youth success, he has made 13 appearances in the Serbian top flight for both Red Star and his current loan club, Grafičar Belgrade.

Damjanovic is the son of former German professional footballer Jovan Damjanovic, who played for SC Paderborn 07 and SV Wehen Wiesbaden. While he has represented Serbia at the U17 level, he also holds an Austrian passport. Reports suggest that Hoffenheim was also interested in acquiring the highly talented Damjanovic.
