Wilson Odobert to Undergo Surgery for ACL InjuryWilson Odobert to Undergo Surgery for ACL Injury

omidbasir- Wilson Odobert has made 24 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham winger Wilson Odobert will undergo surgery after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, as confirmed by the club.

The 21-year-old Frenchman sustained the injury during the first half of Spurs’ 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday.

In a statement, Tottenham announced: “Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then begin his rehabilitation with our medical staff.”

This injury marks yet another addition to the long list of injury woes for Tottenham, which is currently in search of a new manager following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.

Earlier this year, the club also faced significant injuries to forwards Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison, midfielders Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall, as well as defender Ben Davies.

Additionally, playmaker James Maddison has been sidelined since he ruptured his ACL in August.

Tottenham signed Odobert from Burnley for a fee estimated at £25 million in 2024. He has made 33 appearances for the club this season, starting 10 Premier League matches and participating in six of the club’s eight Champions League group-stage fixtures.

Currently, Spurs sit in 16th place in the Premier League, just five points above the relegation zone, following a disappointing run of form that led to Frank’s departure after only eight months.
