omidbasir- In the closing days of the winter transfer window, Jhon Durán was presented to Ajax. It had previously been reported that the Colombian forward was also recommended to Feyenoord by his agent. However, both prominent Dutch clubs, along with 22 other teams, ultimately decided against pursuing him.

According to Russian outlet Match Premier, Durán was made available globally during the final stretch of the winter transfer period, primarily to clubs across Europe. Last year, he transferred from Aston Villa to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr for a staggering €77 million. After only six months at Al-Nassr, he sought a change, leading to a loan to Fenerbahçe, where he struggled to make a significant impact.

Feyenoord reportedly considered him a serious option right up until Deadline Day, with an interest in securing him on a loan to strengthen their squad. However, their efforts to bring him to De Kuip were unsuccessful. Within the club, Durán was seen as a unique opportunity to enhance the team’s quality in the short term, but the reasons for the failure to complete the transfer remain unclear.
