Potential Appointment of Dick Schreuder as Ajax Coach

omidbasir- There is a strong possibility that Dick Schreuder may become the next coach of Ajax. Despite financial backer Marcel Boekhoorn recently stating that Ajax has ‘no chance at all’, journalists Valentijn Driessen and Mike Verweij from De Telegraaf hold a different perspective.

Reports indicate that Ajax is keen on acquiring Schreuder, who is currently enjoying a successful season with NEC in the Eredivisie. However, a club transfer seems unlikely, as Boekhoorn has expressed skepticism regarding Ajax and Feyenoord’s interest, stating, “They have no chance at all.” Driessen, however, questions the assertions made by the sponsor of the Nijmegen club.

Boekhoorn and the club’s management would prefer to retain Schreuder, yet Verweij believes Ajax may not be entirely out of the running by the end of this season. According to the journalist, Schreuder had previously made agreements with the club management at NEC before the season commenced. “If the current management asserts that they will hold him to his contract, I wonder if that’s wise at this point. They don’t necessarily have to announce that,” he remarked.
