Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart is keen on strengthening its striker options during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Among the potential candidates is Racing Santander’s Jeremy Arevalo. The 20-year-old forward has had an impressive season, netting seven goals in just 12 appearances in the Spanish second division.

Arevalo’s contract in Spain runs until 2027; however, it includes a release clause set at €7 million. Stuttgart is contending with interest from their Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Serie A clubs AS Roma and Udinese.

Should Stuttgart successfully sign Arevalo, the transfer fee would surpass the €5.25 million Bayer Leverkusen paid for Christian Kofane from Albacete last summer. Additionally, RB Leipzig made headlines by acquiring Yan Diomande from relegated Leganes for €20 million, further demonstrating the market’s competitiveness.

Currently, Stuttgart is limited in their striker options due to the injury of Ermedin Demirovic earlier in the season. Presently, Deniz Undav and Tiago Tomas are the only available players for the forward position, leaving the team without a recognized striker.

In recent weeks, VfB Stuttgart had been linked with Real Madrid’s Endrick; however, the Brazilian forward, who has fallen out of favor, is not on Stuttgart’s radar.
