omidbasir- Robin van Persie remains the head coach of Feyenoord, having recently secured a victory against FC Utrecht, providing some relief amidst ongoing pressure. However, this pressure is viewed as expected by former coach Huub Stevens, who believes that Van Persie may have taken on this coaching role prematurely. Furthermore, Stevens argues that the choice of René Hake as assistant coach is flawed, suggesting that a more suitable candidate should have been selected.

In an interview with Voetbal International, Stevens commented on Van Persie’s appointment, stating that he became a coach ‘a bit too quickly’ for a club of Feyenoord’s stature. “His experience is limited to youth coaching and a brief stint at Heerenveen, which I believe is insufficient for managing a major club like Feyenoord. This can lead to decisions that he may later reconsider.”

Stevens also criticized the decision to appoint Hake as the assistant coach, advocating for the inclusion of a true club icon in that role. “Why not choose a genuine Feyenoord figure who deeply understands the club? Someone like Giovanni van Bronckhorst would resonate more with the fans than Hake. Similarly, Ajax could benefit from having a seasoned Ajax veteran, like Frank de Boer, working alongside Johnny Heitinga. As a young coach, I would certainly appreciate such support.”
