Dirk Kuijt s Promising Coaching Journey at FC DordrechtDirk Kuijt s Promising Coaching Journey at FC Dordrecht

omidbasir- Dirk Kuijt is currently performing admirably as the head coach of FC Dordrecht, which stands ninth in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The team has amassed thirteen points from their last five matches, winning four and drawing one. This success raises questions about the possibility of promotion in the near future.

Kuijt’s name has begun to circulate in Rotterdam-Zuid, where discussions about Robin van Persie’s future at Feyenoord are ongoing. Some fans express a desire for Van Persie to step down, or even be dismissed. Comments such as, “Sjaak Troost and Toon van Bodegom (commissioners at De Kuip) believe that Dirk Kuijt would make the ideal successor to Robin van Persie,” have garnered significant support online. Another fan remarked, “Being a coach is a profession built on experience, and Dirk has an unwavering commitment to succeed — I anticipate his coaching career will surpass that of Van Persie’s.”

In response to the speculation regarding his potential appointment, Kuijt stated, “Becoming the head coach of Feyenoord is a goal of mine, but it is not my only goal. I want to take on that role when I am fully prepared and confident that I can make a difference, just as I did as a player. My time will come, but for now, I am enjoying my experience in Belgium. I am at the beginning of my coaching career, and I have already won a championship. If we manage to secure our position, it will feel like a second title.”

Kuijt departed from Rotterdam in 2021 after coaching Feyenoord U-19 from 2018 to 2020. He reflected, “Everyone knows what Feyenoord represents to me, and I have gained invaluable experience with the club over the years. I am certain our paths will cross again, but for now, it is important for me to continue my journey elsewhere, following my instincts.” Former technical director Frank Arnesen commented, “Dirk has chosen to pursue his own path, which is his prerogative. We wish him every success in the next phase of his career. Perhaps our paths will intersect again in the future.”
