Tottenham Finalizes Appointment of Igor Tudor as Interim Head CoachTottenham Finalizes Appointment of Igor Tudor as Interim Head Coach

omidbasir- Tottenham Hotspur is finalizing the appointment of Igor Tudor as their interim head coach until the end of the current season, as reported by sources to ESPN.

Discussions have advanced rapidly in the last 24 hours, prompted by the club’s intensified search following the dismissal of Thomas Frank on Monday, after just eight months in charge.

According to sources, Tottenham evaluated a select group of candidates and identified Tudor as a leading choice due to his extensive head coaching experience, which includes a recent seven-month tenure at Juventus.

The 47-year-old has verbally agreed to assume the position, although some contractual details are still being finalized.

Sources indicate that Spurs are optimistic Tudor will be in place by Monday, coinciding with the players’ return from a five-day break. Their next match is scheduled against north London rivals Arsenal at home on February 22.

Tudor departed Juventus in October after an eight-match winless streak and has previously managed several clubs across Europe, including Hajduk Split (twice), Udinese (twice), Marseille, and Lazio.

Additionally, it has been suggested that Tudor, who secured two Serie A titles as a player with Juventus, will have the opportunity to establish a case for a permanent position beyond the summer if Tottenham achieves success during this period.

Currently, the team is positioned in 16th place, five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone, with a Champions League round-of-16 match approaching next month.

In terms of potential permanent appointments, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a significant figure in the club’s considerations and is favored by supporters; however, his future remains uncertain following the tournament.

Other candidates in the mix include Roberto De Zerbi, who is currently out of work after leaving Marseille, as well as Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola, who are completing the final months of their contracts at Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth, respectively.

Prior to appointing Frank, Spurs also explored the option of Fulham manager Marco Silva.
