Dick Schreuder Remains a Key Figure in Dutch Football Amid Speculation

omidbasir- Dick Schreuder is arguably the most coveted head coach in the Eredivisie at this moment. His name has been frequently associated with the traditional top three clubs; however, it seems that he will remain with NEC this summer.

NEC appears poised to retain the talented Dick Schreuder. PSV previously hinted that Schreuder is a potential candidate for future coaching roles. However, with Peter Bosz extending his contract in Eindhoven, that position is not currently available. While there remains a possibility that Schreuder could transition to the national team, this seems unlikely as the KNVB intends to clarify their coaching situation only after the World Cup.

Johan Derksen, a well-known NEC supporter, hopes that Ajax will approach Schreuder this summer. During an episode of Vandaag Inside, he expressed his concerns regarding Jordi Cruijff’s approach, stating, “He only has a network in Spain. He doesn’t know Dick Schreuder at all.” Derksen emphasized, “Seeing what Schreuder has achieved at NEC, one would expect action to be taken. Instead, we might see them hire a Spanish coach along with several B-team Spaniards.”
