The performance of Jong Ajax this season has been unsatisfactory, prompting Cruijff to take decisive action. Journalist Valentijn Driessen commented on the situation in the football podcast Kick-Off, stating, “Winning is an integral part of player development. When these players fail to deliver, it undermines their training, and that is unacceptable.”

Cruijff has made it clear that he demands results. In an interview with Voetbal International, he remarked, “You might think that Jong Ajax is part of our youth academy, but the players there are at an age where they should be making their debut for Ajax’s first team.
