Bruno Guimaraes Faces Extended Absence Due to InjuryBruno Guimaraes Faces Extended Absence Due to Injury

omidbasir- Bruno Guimaraes, the captain of Newcastle United, has scored nine goals this season.

Unfortunately, he is expected to be sidelined for a couple of months due to a hamstring injury sustained late in Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. This was only Guimaraes’ second appearance after recovering from a previous ankle injury.

Head coach Eddie Howe expressed concern, noting that Guimaraes has never experienced issues with his hamstrings before.

The injury represents a significant setback for Newcastle as they navigate a challenging schedule. Historically, the team has struggled in matches without Guimaraes; they have not won any of the ten Premier League games he has missed since his debut in February 2022. In contrast, Newcastle boasts a 53.1% win rate with Guimaraes on the pitch.

Statistically, the team has averaged 1.8 points per game, scored 1.9 goals per match, and conceded only 1.2 goals when he is in the lineup.

As Newcastle prepares for a critical series of matches, starting with the FA Cup fourth-round clash against Aston Villa this Saturday, they will need to adapt without their influential midfielder. Currently, Sandro Tonali, Joe Willock, and Jacob Ramsey are the only senior central midfielders available for the trip to Villa Park.

However, there is optimism regarding Joelinton’s imminent return from a groin injury, and the club hopes that Lewis Miley will not be out for an extended period due to a dead leg.
