Real Betis Fans Make Their Presence Felt in Mallorca

The verdiblanco supporters filled the away section, which comprises 697 seats, but were also prominent in other areas of the stadium, ensuring their voices were heard throughout the match, especially when their team secured victory.

Mallorca is home to a significant number of long-time verdiblanco fans, as evidenced by the Unión Béticos Mallorca, a supporters’ group based in Palma that follows Real Betis Balompié wherever they go. Their enthusiasm is especially palpable during matches against Mallorca, such as the one that took place this Sunday.

It has almost become a tradition for the Estadio de Son Moix to be tinged with green and white, thanks to the numerous Betis fans residing in Mallorca—some of whom are even club season ticket holders. Many supporters also travel to the island for the match, though this particular fixture saw an inconvenient kickoff time.

The Unión Béticos Mallorca organized a gathering for Betis supporters in the island this Sunday, featuring a lively pre-match event complete with a Fan Zone. S’Escorxador, a large commercial, recreational, and cultural center in Palma, served as the meeting point for the fans, offering ample space with bars, restaurants, and a supermarket.

The doors to the Fan Zone opened at 14:00 hours, with a supporters’ gathering scheduled for 15:00 hours. At 16:00 hours, the Fiesta Verdiblanca commenced, followed by the Gran Marcha Verde at 19:00 hours, where fans walked to Son Moix, located just 25 minutes away.

The familiar chants from La Cartuja echoed on the island, accompanying Pellegrini’s side during the match and especially resounding at the final whistle, which confirmed a verdiblanco victory that places Betis just four points away from a Champions League spot. The Betis anthem filled Son Moix as the local team faced the unfortunate slide into the relegation zone in a tightly contested league.
