Reflecting on the match, Arteta expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance against Wigan, stating, “It was great. Straight away you could see that things were clicking. Players were really alive, really sharp. We caused a lot of damage to them.”

He added, “I am very happy we are in the next round. That’s what we wanted to achieve, and I think the manner in which we did it—making several changes—was commendable. The team displayed a strong desire, which is crucial when facing teams like this in the competition.”

Arteta emphasized the importance of cohesion, noting, “Normally, that isn’t present at the beginning due to the changes made. However, the team played with significant intensity, consistently threatening the opposition, and we scored some incredible goals in the first half, which made a difference.”
