omidbasir- Tottenham Hotspur’s newly appointed interim head coach, Igor Tudor, has stated that there is “no time to find excuses” as he works to reverse the club’s troubling slide in the Premier League.

The 47-year-old former Juventus manager, who took charge last week following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, aims to instill confidence in the players as his primary task.

“The first priority is to provide everything the team needs during these challenging times. The players must regain their confidence and courage, while also focusing on the concrete aspects of our performance on the pitch,” Tudor shared with the club’s media.

“I am aware that the situation is far from ideal. There is no time for excuses. From day one, I’ve emphasized that each member of the team must contribute something extra.”

Frank was relieved of his duties last Wednesday after an eight-month tenure, following a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United that extended Tottenham’s winless run in the league to eight matches.

Currently, the club finds itself in 16th place, just five points above the relegation zone. Tudor faces a daunting task in his first match against title contenders Arsenal at home this Sunday.

“The club’s current position is one that no one can accept, least of all our fans. We fully recognize this, but awareness alone is insufficient,” Tudor remarked.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by numerous injuries within the squad, stating, “We must first identify the best system that suits the available players at this moment.”

“While this may sound peculiar, I believe our immediate focus should be on training. The training we undertake today is crucial for our future progress.”

Tudor emphasized the importance of providing direction as a coach, stating, “It is my responsibility to outline the path we wish to take, and the players must be willing to embrace this.”

Having been sacked by Juventus last October following an eight-game winless streak, Tudor is cognizant of the club’s culture and the fans’ desire for an attractive brand of football.

“I firmly believe in style; it is more significant than the system itself. Each club possesses its unique nature, reflective of its footballing culture. Therefore, it is vital to consider this while also remaining true to myself, my aspirations, and what our team can achieve.”

“My staff and I must be astute in finding the best possible approach in a very short timeframe.”
