omidbasir- Jordan Ibe has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6. According to reports from The Sun, the 30-year-old returned to the UK to address legal matters pertaining to a different case.

Ibe pleaded guilty to using fraudulent prescriptions to obtain Zolpidem, a medication prescribed for insomnia. He was subsequently fined £230 during his recent appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in North London.

Currently, Ibe plays for Lokomotiv Sofia in the Bulgarian top flight. The former England international has had a turbulent career, having spent two years in non-league football before securing his transfer to Bulgaria in November 2025. Lokomotiv Sofia marks the 11th club Ibe has represented throughout his professional journey.

Ibe graduated from Wycombe’s academy before moving to Liverpool in 2012, where he made 58 appearances, contributing four goals and seven assists. He transferred to Bournemouth in July 2016 for a fee of £15 million ($20 million).

During his time with the Cherries, he added another 14 goal contributions across 92 matches, although he struggled to secure consistent playing time and was released when his contract expired in 2020.

Having opened up about his battle with depression in 2021, Ibe later played for Derby County, Turkish club Adanaspor, Ebbsfleet United, Hayes & Yeading United, Hungerford Town, and Sittingbourne before making the move to Lokomotiv Sofia. He has yet to make his competitive debut for the Bulgarian side, which expressed optimism upon his signing, stating, “After a few difficult seasons, Jordan is ready to revive his career, and we all believe that this will happen at Lokomotiv. The management of Lokomotiv wishes Jordon Ibe much health, happiness, and success with the red and black jersey.”
