omidbasir- Jürgen Klopp’s agent has disclosed that Manchester United and Chelsea both sought the services of the former Liverpool manager following his exit from Anfield.

In an interview with Transfermarkt, Marc Kosicke indicated that the 58-year-old German could have taken on managerial roles with either England or the United States after concluding his tenure at Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season.

However, both Manchester United and Chelsea have emphatically denied making any approaches to Klopp, whether directly or through an intermediary. Reports from ESPN in 2024 had indicated that both the U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) and the English Football Association (FA) were interested in Klopp during their managerial searches, but ultimately, he declined their offers.

Klopp, who previously managed Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, enjoyed a successful nine-year stint at Liverpool before transitioning to his current role as head of global football with Red Bull.

Kosicke remarked, “Perhaps at some point, he will feel the need to experience the locker room atmosphere again. However, he is currently very content in his position.”

He further elaborated, “Before joining Red Bull, Jürgen could have taken charge of either the United States or England, and even Germany, had Julian Nagelsmann not already been engaged.”

Kosicke also noted that both Chelsea and Manchester United expressed interest, even though Klopp had explicitly stated that he would not manage any other club in England.

“These inquiries remain persistent. He is extremely proud of his achievements and enjoys being among the few coaches who have managed only three clubs without being dismissed,” Kosicke added.

According to Kosicke, the United States approached Klopp prior to appointing Mauricio Pochettino as the successor to Gregg Berhalter in September 2024, while the FA named Thomas Tuchel as Gareth Southgate’s successor in January 2025.

The FA has been contacted for a comment regarding these developments.

In an interview in October, Klopp expressed that he did not plan to return to management but did not entirely dismiss the idea of returning to Liverpool. “I stated that I would never coach another team in England, which implies that if I return, it will be Liverpool,” Klopp shared during the Diary of a CEO podcast last year. “So yes, theoretically, it’s possible.”

He continued, emphasizing his current satisfaction, stating, “I love what I do right now. I don’t miss coaching in the traditional sense. I mean, I do coach, just in a different capacity—not with players. I don’t miss the long hours in the rain or the frequent press conferences and interviews. I genuinely don’t miss any of that.”
