omidbasir- Raheem Sterling has earned 82 caps for the England national team.

Feyenoord is set to hold training sessions in Belgium this week instead of their usual location in Rotterdam, enabling new signing Raheem Sterling to integrate with his teammates. The England forward joined Feyenoord last week after parting ways with Chelsea by mutual consent. However, he is currently unable to train or participate in matches in the Netherlands until a work permit is granted.

Manager Robin van Persie explained that the decision to train in Tubize, approximately 137 kilometers (85 miles) from Rotterdam, was made specifically to help Sterling acclimate to the team as swiftly as possible. “One of the reasons is that Sterling can train with the team,” Van Persie stated. “But we can also work on our team culture there. It’s for Raheem and for those processes that we’re going to do this.”

Feyenoord plans to return to Rotterdam following Wednesday’s training session, hoping that Sterling’s work permit will be approved in time for their home match against Telstar on Sunday.

Having also played for Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal, Sterling had numerous options to consider after leaving Chelsea. Sources indicate that around 18 clubs in England and across Europe expressed interest in him before he ultimately chose to join Feyenoord.

The 16-time Dutch champions currently sit second in the Eredivisie, trailing league leaders PSV by 14 points. Sterling has netted 20 goals in 82 appearances for England but has not featured for the national team since 2022.
