Brighton Pursues El Mala Brothers for Strategic SigningsBrighton Pursues El Mala Brothers for Strategic Signings

omidbasir- Sky Germany reports that Brighton & Hove Albion is pursuing a dual signing strategy involving Said El Mala and his younger brother Malek El Mala, as they aim to secure the talents of both players from 1.FC Köln.

Following the rejection of a €30 million bid earlier in the season for the elder El Mala brother, the Premier League club is intensifying their efforts to complete the transfer. There is hope that bringing Malek into the fold may ease Said’s transition to the south coast.

Currently, Malek El Mala plays as a striker for Köln’s second team in the Regionalliga West, where he has made a notable impact by scoring five goals in 12 appearances. However, he has been sidelined since November due to injury.

Should Brighton successfully acquire both brothers, the plan is for Malek, aged 20, to join their under-21 team competing in the Premier League U21 league, enabling him to further his development in a competitive environment.

The El Mala brothers have a history of following similar paths in their football careers, having transitioned from being released by Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021 to playing for Viktoria Köln, before ultimately landing at the Rhein Energie Stadion last summer.
