LaLiga Enhances Incident Report Following Derby Between Levante and ValenciaLaLiga Enhances Incident Report Following Derby Between Levante and Valencia

omidbasir- LaLiga has expanded its incident report following the recent derby match between Levante and Valencia. The organization has added an annex detailing a prior provocation that led to a confrontation and an incident involving a bottle thrown at Valencia’s defender, Cömert.

According to the report, the events outlined in points 11 and 12 occurred after the visiting player Cömert approached the area where some Valencia CF fans were situated. He ignited a corner flag, placed his jersey over it, and waved it like a flag. This gesture escalated tensions with local coaches, players, and supporters, necessitating intervention from the National Police and security personnel to restore order.

It is important to note that the initial LaLiga report did not account for this incident, but instead focused on the chants from both sides that included insults, as well as the bottle thrown at the Swiss defender as he left the pitch. With this expansion, LaLiga has now included the details of the player’s prior provocation.

The Valencia club opted not to file a complaint regarding the bottle incident that occurred as Cömert was retreating to the locker room. However, LaLiga’s observer did include this situation in their report, which was not mentioned in the official match record, as it happened approximately ten minutes after the conclusion of the game and the referee had already left the field.
