omidbasir- In an interview with Sky Germany, Bayern Munich winger Luis Diaz shared insights into his decision to join the club during the summer transfer window.

In July, Diaz made a significant move to the reigning Bundesliga champions from Liverpool for a reported fee of €70 million. Reflecting on his transfer to Bayern, the Colombian stated:

“When FC Bayern approached me, I knew from the very first moment that I wanted to make this transfer. It filled me with pride because I had known the club for a long time and was aware of what to expect. It was a good decision—one made for an incredible and fantastic team. Naturally, when you arrive somewhere new, you want to give your best and feel comfortable in your surroundings.”

Diaz emphasized the importance of happiness for both himself and his family, affirming, “It was the right decision to come here. I was confident I would be joining an outstanding group of footballers and a club with excellent infrastructure and a fantastic training ground. I had no doubts about that.”

He also acknowledged the challenges he faces, stating, “The most difficult aspect for me and my family has undoubtedly been the language barrier. However, I was certain that I would fit in well here and contribute to the team’s success, just as I had done at Liverpool. FC Bayern placed their trust in me, and I am dedicated to repaying that trust on the pitch.”

The 29-year-old’s transfer was influenced by Bayern’s inability to finalize the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Instead, Wirtz opted to join Diaz’s former club, which resulted in the two briefly being teammates.

Since his arrival at Liverpool, Diaz has made a significant impact, scoring 19 goals and providing 15 assists in 32 matches across all competitions. Currently, he ranks second in the Bundesliga top scorer charts with 13 goals, trailing only teammate Harry Kane, who has netted 26 goals.

Diaz has quickly become a vital component of Bayern’s offensive strategy, bringing a distinct dynamic and style to the team alongside players such as Kane and Michael Olise.
