Mallorca Prepares for Upcoming Match Against Celta de Vigo Amid Player AbsencesMallorca Prepares for Upcoming Match Against Celta de Vigo Amid Player Absences

omidbasir- RCD Mallorca has commenced preparations for their upcoming match this Sunday at 18:30 against Celta de Vigo, although they will be without Johan Mojica. The Colombian player was unable to finish the match against Real Betis at Son Moix (1-2) and was subsequently substituted for Toni Lato.

This Wednesday, the promising young player Luis Orejuela, who has made a significant impact this season, trained with the first team at the Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio. This is not the first instance of Orejuela training with the main squad; he was included in the squad for the second round Copa del Rey match against Numancia at Los Pajaritos (2-3), although he did not make his debut. Nevertheless, the coaching staff believes he is ready to rise to the next level.

The young left-back, standing at 1.72 meters tall, is currently the surprising top scorer of Mallorca’s Juvenil A team, having netted seven goals across both league and cup competitions. Notably, five of these goals have come from headers, a remarkable feat that has contributed to a standout season characterized by exceptional performance on the left flank.

In addition to his statistics in the División de Honor, Orejuela has also made his scoring debut with Mallorca B, who are leading the Tercera RFEF in the Balearic Islands. He scored his first goal for the team—once again with a header—in their 3-0 victory against Platges de Calvià.

Joining Luis Orejuela, who was born in 2007 and is thus in his final year of youth eligibility, is fellow young talent Javier Olaizola, a central defender who made his first-team debut in a Copa match against Atlètic Sant Just (0-2).

Another rising star from Mallorca’s 2007 cohort is goalkeeper Niki Strashnikov, who also trained with the first team earlier this week. Strashnikov, an international player with Bulgaria’s youth teams, has participated in 11 matches this season in the demanding División de Honor Juvenil and has been with the club’s youth system for 11 years.
