Murillo’s Future at Nottingham Forest: Potential Transfer Speculations

Anderson, a two-time European Cup winner, has observed Murillo during his 100 appearances for Forest. Speaking in collaboration with Betting site BetSelect, he conveyed to GOAL his impressions of the Brazilian international, stating: “I attended an event for Forest six or seven months ago with Ryan Yates, where I asked him who the best player was, and he immediately replied, Murillo. That indicates his quality.

“I have watched him extensively, and he is an impressive player. Losing him would be a significant blow, but there is still much to unfold. His left foot is exceptional, particularly with those diagonal passes. Yates highlighted him as the club’s top player, which surprised me given the other talents present.”

Anderson reminisced about his playing days alongside iconic defenders during the Brian Clough era, emphasizing that Murillo is far more than a traditional defender: “Unlike the likes of Larry Lloyd and Kenny Burns, who primarily relied on physicality, Murillo is adept with the ball. In modern football, centre-backs need to excel in ball skills, and he certainly does.”

Despite his unusual physique, he is quite talented and comfortable with the ball.”

It is evident that clubs are tracking him, but from a personal perspective, I hope he remains at Forest for the next few years, having recently signed a new contract.
