omidbasir- During the pre-match press conference ahead of the Liga game against Rayo Vallecano at La Cartuja, Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini addressed the potential timelines for the return of Isco Alarcón and Sofyan Amrabat to the field. Isco, who underwent ankle arthroscopy surgery in late December following an unfortunate injury sustained during a match with Amrabat, continues to progress slowly in his recovery nearly two months later. Meanwhile, Amrabat had surgery less than a month ago and is expected to arrive in Seville next week.

Pellegrini remarked on Amrabat’s situation, stating, “The situation with Amrabat, like that of Isco, is evolving as they continue their rehabilitation. We first need to wait for Amrabat’s arrival in Spain and assess his condition. It’s an injury that requires careful management, and we will see how the medical team handles it with him.”

Regarding Isco, Pellegrini refrained from providing specific timelines: “Isco’s case is similar to Amrabat’s; these injuries evolve over time, and we monitor how much load they can handle week by week. Unlike a tendon rupture or tear, these are cartilage injuries that exhibit varying responses based on the physical stress they endure. It is challenging to predict a return date, just like with Amrabat.”
