Ajax is looking to appoint a new head coach in the near future. The new head coach will only be informed of the identity of the incoming technical director after their appointment. Last week, Ajax officially announced the departure of John Heitinga due to disappointing results. Technical director Alex Kroes also announced his resignation; however, he will remain in his position for a transitional period to prevent the club from becoming unmanageable in sporting terms. There is a possibility that he may fulfill the remainder of his contract. Analyst Theo Janssen has voiced a strong preference for a potential candidate. “If we look at previous coaches, many were former Ajax players. While Farioli and Steijn are exceptions, Farioli has performed admirably. However, Ajax should consider taking a different direction this time.
