Reigan Heskey, son of former England and Liverpool star Emile Heskey, recently scored another international goal during a match against Egypt. The Manchester City forward capitalized on a lapse in Egypt’s defense early in the game, driving across the goal to unleash a powerful shot that curled past goalkeeper Omar Abdelaziz. This marks Heskey’s second goal in two games for the Young Lions, having previously contributed one goal and four assists in a decisive victory over Haiti.

Reigan plays alongside his brother Jaden at Manchester City, and both were granted their debuts by Pep Guardiola earlier this year. Proud father Emile shared insights with the Mirror regarding his approach to parenting as his sons aspire to follow in his illustrious footsteps.

Emile stated, “They are both very athletic. The younger one is exceptionally quick, while the older one possesses a more robust physique similar to mine. They share many attributes. I take a step back and embrace my role as a father. If they seek my advice, I gladly offer it; however, I do not impose my views on them. They genuinely enjoy the sport, which is paramount. There are moments I feel the urge to comment, but ultimately, it is not my career.

“Another consideration is the instructions provided by their manager or coach. If I were to suggest a different approach, it could create confusion. Thus, I prefer to observe and appreciate their progress. Having watched them grow from the age of four to now—19 and 17 respectively—it’s gratifying to see how far they have come.”

As for England, their match against Egypt represents the final fixture in the group stage, with Ryan’s team aiming to advance to the next round of the tournament. The Young Lions are motivated to replicate their previous triumph in 2017, which featured talented players like Phil Foden, Marc Guehi, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Conor Gallagher, as they set their sights on a successful campaign in 2025.
