Oscar, the former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder, scored 38 goals in 203 appearances for the club between July 2012 and December 2016.

Currently, Oscar is stable in the hospital following a heart-related incident that occurred during physical testing at Sao Paulo’s training center on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old returned to Sao Paulo, his original club, in December 2024 after an eight-year stint in China. The club has stated, “Oscar experienced an incident involving cardiological changes and was promptly attended to by our medical professionals and the team from Einstein Hospital Israelita, who were present on-site. He was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he is now in stable condition and under observation for further diagnostic tests.”

According to Brazilian publication Globo, Oscar collapsed while using an exercise bike and was unconscious for two minutes. There are reports suggesting that he is now contemplating retirement.

At Sao Paulo, Oscar is reunited with former Chelsea and Argentina striker Hernan Crespo, who manages the team. He signed a three-year contract that extends until 2027.
