Jasurek Clarifies Controversial Comments Regarding Lobotka s Future at NapoliJasurek Clarifies Controversial Comments Regarding Lobotka s Future at Napoli

Jasurek recently appeared on a podcast with the Slovak website Sport24, recorded in October but gaining significant attention in Italy this week. His remarks regarding Stanislav Lobotka’s future sent shockwaves through Naples, particularly his suggestion that the midfielder could seek new opportunities next summer if Antonio Conte continues as head coach.

Jasurek noted Napoli’s recent investments in player acquisitions but questioned Conte’s decision to have Lobotka participate in three challenging matches within eight days prior to a national team match. “I do not understand why Lobotka had to play under such strenuous conditions, especially considering his injury struggles. A brief rest might have allowed him to participate effectively for Slovakia in Northern Ireland. This situation makes me anxious,” he expressed.

He added, “If Stano wins a third title with Napoli, it may indeed make it easier for him to consider leaving, but I prefer not to speculate on these matters. He has secured a significantly improved contract, which could extend his tenure at the club for several more years. However, at 30 years old, sustaining the physical demands of Conte’s style may become increasingly unrealistic. We are even debating whether such demands can be managed at all, as Conte’s expectations in terms of physical performance are extraordinarily challenging.”

After Jasurek’s comments went viral, he was contacted by Radio CRC, prompting him to clarify his statements. “I was surprised by the misinterpretation of my words,” he stated. “During the podcast, I expressed admiration for Lobotka. While I did mention that working with Antonio Conte can be challenging due to his high demands, I also noted that this is a positive aspect because he is a winner. My comment about Lobotka potentially seeking a transfer was made in jest.”

“Listeners familiar with the original language would recognize it as humor. It’s crucial to clarify that Conte has a father-like relationship with Lobotka, and that bond will remain steadfast. I am confident they will achieve many more successes together.”

Lobotka, who joined Napoli from Celta Vigo in 2024, is under contract until 2027, with an option to extend for an additional year. According to Jasurek, the Slovak international aspires to win the UEFA Champions League with Napoli, drawing parallels between his connection to the club and that of former player Marek Hamsík. “Stanislav shares a deep bond with Napoli similar to that of Hamsík. He considers the city his second home and has invested in property there. His commitment is evident as he trains rigorously week after week, which is paramount,” Jasurek remarked.

“He has already achieved two Italian championships with Napoli and firmly believes he can secure a third title. Additionally, he dreams of lifting the Champions League trophy with this club. At 30, he is at a pivotal moment where he wants to win trophies, and he is at the right club to fulfill that ambition.”

However, Napoli currently finds itself in a challenging position, having dropped to fourth place after securing only seven points from their last five league games. Reports suggest that Conte is scheduled to engage in discussions regarding his future with the club’s management.

As for Lobotka, the midfielder has recently regained full fitness after a two-week absence due to an adductor injury.
