Rheinische Post reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach is currently in discussions with Eugen Polanski regarding his appointment as the permanent head coach.

Polanski took over as the interim head coach following the dismissal of Gerardo Seoane earlier this season. Despite a challenging start, the former midfielder has successfully guided Gladbach out of the relegation zone, now placing the team in 12th position with consecutive victories, including a notable win in the Rhein derby against 1.FC Köln.

The club is now negotiating with Polanski’s agent to formalize his role as the permanent successor to Seoane.

In related news, Bild reports that former sporting director Roland Virkus may be set to return to Borussia Mönchengladbach. His contract at Borussia Park is currently suspended, rather than terminated, following his departure earlier this season.

Should Virkus make a comeback, he is expected to assume a role within the club’s academy. Before succeeding Max Eberl as sporting director in 2022, Virkus had an extensive tenure as academy manager for 14 years.
