Selton Concludes Training Camp Ahead of Key Matches

Selton concludes his training camp this Thursday, having participated alongside 48 players from the Spanish U18 and U19 national teams in Marbella. The selected players utilized this stage to play two matches on Wednesday afternoon. The group will train again this morning before returning to their respective home locations.

Selton will be returning with plans for the first team, as coach Valverde wishes to have him available in the week leading up to the match against Barcelona. The coach confirmed on Sunday, following the match against Oviedo, that “for the moment, Selton is staying with us.” After making his debut with Athletic, playing minutes in the Champions League against Newcastle, and starting in La Liga at San Mamés, it seems that this statement implies he will not participate in the upcoming match for Bilbao Athletic against Arenteiro. The reserve team is scheduled to play on Sunday in Lezama, having previously competed without Selton or Hierro; however, Hierro will be available for the second team this time.

Meanwhile, the first team is set to conduct its final training session of the week at Lezama this Thursday. The squad will enjoy a break until Monday, although several players—including Jauregizar, Lekue, Gorosabel, Galarreta, Nico Serrano, and Guruzeta—will participate in a friendly match on Saturday, where Euskadi will face Palestine at San Mamés.
