Isco Alarcón and Sara Sálamo received a warm welcome at the Cartuja Center during the Sevilla European Film Festival, where they showcased the documentary ‘En silencio. La resiliencia de Isco Alarcón.’ This 90-minute film, directed and produced by Sara Sálamo, chronicles Isco’s arduous recovery from a severe fibula injury that sidelined him for over six months at the end of the 2023-24 season.

On Thursday, Isco and Sara held an extensive press conference, followed by the screening of their documentary, which had premiered a few months prior at the San Sebastián Film Festival. They were joined by friends, teammates, and prominent members of the Real Betis organization, including President Ángel Haro, Vice President López Catalán, new advisor Joaquín, Director of Sports Manu Fajardo, Director of Institutional Relations Rafael Gordillo, and Head Coach Manuel Pellegrini.

A strong representation of the Betis squad attended to support their captain, including Álvaro Valles, Marc Roca, Valentín Gómez, Diego Llorente, Ángel Ortiz, Marc Bartra, Adrián San Miguel, Sergi Altimira, Aitor Ruibal, Rodrigo Riquelme, Junior Firpo, and Héctor Bellerín. They expressed their eagerness for Isco’s swift return to the field, as well as for the renewal of his contract.

Marc Bartra reflected on Isco’s presence during training, stating, “It’s a joy for everyone to see him training with the group. We recognize his talent and the significance he holds for us all. I haven’t seen the film yet, but I believe it will be beautiful. We have all been part of this journey, supporting him through difficult times, and we hope to share many joyous moments ahead. We’re all excited to see him not just in training but also in matches.”

Joaquín, pivotal in bringing Isco to Betis, acknowledged the importance of the day, saying, “Today is special for both Isco and Betis with this documentary. He is happy and enjoying himself.” He refrained from discussing Isco’s contract renewal, emphasizing that the focus should be on celebrating Isco’s story. “As an advisor, I remain dedicated to my role, but today is about honoring his journey. We are eager for him to play again,” he concluded. This event marked an unforgettable occasion for both Isco Alarcón and Sara Sálamo, showcasing their resilience and dedication in Sevilla.
