Florian Plettenberg has reported that Bayern Munich is keen to acquire Dutch right back Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam. The 19-year-old is considered one of Europe’s most promising talents in his position, with his market value skyrocketing from €4 million to €20 million over the past ten months. There are also indications that several Premier League clubs have shown interest in the Netherlands U21 international.

Sources, including Plettenberg, indicate that Bayern has made strengthening the right back position a priority for the upcoming January transfer window. However, it appears unlikely that the Bundesliga champions will feel compelled to spend a significant sum on a new player.

Currently, natural midfielder Konrad Laimer frequently occupies the right back role under coach Vincent Kompany. Additionally, Kompany has effectively utilized Josip Stanisic and Raphaël Guerreiro in the right fullback position this season.

Sacha Boey has also shown notable improvement under Kompany, earning increased playing time.

According to reports from German football media, Bayern’s administrative team, led by Christoph Freund and Max Eberl, has made tangible efforts to recruit the teenage talent to Säbener Straße. Eberl and Freund are said to have already engaged in discussions with Read’s agent.
