Dele Alli s Journey From Promising Star to Seeking New OpportunitiesDele Alli s Journey From Promising Star to Seeking New Opportunities

After a tumultuous period both on and off the field during his time with Everton, Dele Alli was released from the club when his contract expired. Despite his release, he continued to train with Everton until late 2024, when Como, a Serie A team managed by former football stars Cesc Fabregas, expressed interest in him.

Alli’s tenure at Como was short-lived, marked by just one appearance off the bench, which lasted less than ten minutes before he received a red card in a match against AC Milan. Subsequently, his contract was terminated in September 2025, leaving him without a club ever since.

Despite these setbacks, the 37-cap England international remains committed to an individual training regimen, believing he can still make a significant impact in football. However, his lack of game time since February 2023 and persistent fitness issues may hinder his prospects of finding a new club.

Morrison, who had a connection with Alli during their shared time at MK Dons, voiced his hope that the former Tottenham star can find a new opportunity. In an interview with GOAL, Morrison stated, “He’s a fantastic footballer with immense talent. It’s a critical juncture for him now—he needs to find a club where he can thrive and be the Dele Alli we all recognize.”

Morrison continued, emphasizing the importance of support for Alli: “If I were a manager in the Championship, I would be eager to sign him, providing the encouragement he needs. When fit, few players match his caliber in that league. He should consider a step back to the Championship to rediscover his joy in football.”

At just 29 years old, Alli is at an age where he should still be in his prime. Clubs like Birmingham and Swansea, backed by notable investors, have been mentioned as potential landing spots for him. Morrison noted that it is crucial for Alli to find a team that will nurture his talent and help him regain his spark.

Alli is a two-time PFA Young Player of the Year and reached the Champions League final with Tottenham in 2019, boasting nearly 200 Premier League appearances and 51 goals. His next move will be vital in determining whether he can reignite his once-promising career.
