Marc Guehi, the Crystal Palace defender, has officially withdrawn from the England national team due to a foot injury.

Guehi sustained the injury while playing against AZ Alkmaar in a Conference League match last week. He will now return to his club for rehabilitation on the affected foot.

The 25-year-old was absent from England’s recent 2-0 victory over Serbia and will also miss the team’s final 2026 World Cup qualifier in Albania.

Despite the injury, Guehi joined Thomas Tuchel’s squad earlier in the week, although he had missed Palace’s 0-0 draw against Brighton the previous Sunday due to a significant bone bruise that rendered him “unable to walk”.

As Tuchel prepares for the upcoming match in Tirana, he will do so with a squad of 24 players. England currently leads Group K and has already secured qualification for next summer’s World Cup, set to take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, having won all seven of their matches so far.
