Reports indicate that Borussia Mönchengladbach is keen on converting the loan of midfielder Yannik Engelhardt into a permanent transfer.

The 26-year-old joined Borussia Park during the summer on loan from the Serie A club Como and has quickly established himself as a pivotal figure in the midfield.

Gladbach is actively pursuing a permanent deal for Engelhardt, with incoming head coach Eugen Polanski advocating for his acquisition.

Although Engelhardt’s loan agreement does not include a buy option, Como is open to negotiations starting at approximately €4.5 million, as his contract in Italy is valid until 2027.

Engelhardt is not the sole loan player making waves this summer. Striker Haris Tabakovic has emerged as a central figure in Gladbach’s attacking lineup, particularly in the absence of Tim Kleindienst.

With six goals and two assists in nine matches, Tabakovic has already surpassed his total from his previous season at parent club Hoffenheim.

The Bosnian forward has expressed his satisfaction at the club, indicating a desire to extend his stay in the Niederrhein after his loan concludes this summer. He stated, “I feel very, very comfortable here at the club and in the town in Gladbach. However, these decisions will have to be made in the future.”
