The latest updates on player transfers reveal significant movements and interests among key clubs in Europe.

Liverpool is reportedly eyeing a January transfer for Bournemouth’s 25-year-old forward Antoine Semenyo, especially as Mohamed Salah is set to represent Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations in December and January. Notably, Ghana, Semenyo’s national team, did not qualify for the tournament. Additionally, Liverpool is preparing a serious bid for Kees Smit, a 19-year-old midfielder from AZ Alkmaar.

In other news, Roma is in negotiations with Manchester United regarding a January loan deal for Joshua Zirkzee, a 24-year-old Netherlands forward. This deal may include an option to purchase Zirkzee for 35 million euros (£31 million) in the summer. Should this transfer not materialize, Roma might redirect their efforts towards Tottenham’s Mathys Tel, a 20-year-old forward from France.

Chelsea’s 24-year-old Senegalese striker, Nicolas Jackson, has expressed no intention to end his season-long loan at Bayern Munich to pursue a permanent move elsewhere in January.

Real Madrid is assessing offers around 20 million euros (£17.69 million) for their 21-year-old Spanish forward, Gonzalo Garcia, with Sunderland, Aston Villa, and Wolves reportedly interested. Meanwhile, discussions regarding a contract extension with Austrian center-back David Alaba, 33, have not yet commenced, as he has not been a first-team regular since suffering a serious knee injury in December 2023.

Manchester United is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements and has set its sights on signing 21-year-old Cameroon international Carlos Baleba from Brighton.

Rangers manager Danny Rohl is hesitant to sell 24-year-old midfielder Nicolas Raskin in January, amid reported interest from Tottenham. On a parallel note, Tottenham may miss out on former Everton forward Ademola Lookman, 28, as Atalanta has recently changed management, affecting Lookman’s situation after he had previously clashed with the dismissed coach, Ivan Juric.

Lastly, United States midfielder Christian Pulisic, 27, is inclined to postpone contract discussions with AC Milan until the team’s qualification for next season’s Champions League appears more assured. Manchester City is also keeping an eye on 22-year-old left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, who made his senior debut for the German national team in October.
