England secured their European crown by defeating Spain 3-1 in a penalty shootout during the Euro 2025 final.

In April, Euro 2025 champions England will host world champions Spain at Wembley Stadium for a qualifying match for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

Spain had previously triumphed over the Lionesses in the 2023 World Cup final; however, England avenged that loss by overcoming Spain in the Euro 2025 final, solidifying their status as the champions of Europe.

The two teams are scheduled to clash again in Group A3 on Tuesday, April 14, with the kickoff time to be confirmed in the near future.

“Spain are, of course, one of the best teams in the world, and the opportunity to face them at Wembley again is exhilarating,” remarked Lionesses head coach Sarina Wiegman. “We are acutely aware of the challenges they pose, particularly following our encounter in the Euro final, and there is a deep mutual respect between our teams.”

In addition to Spain, England’s group features Iceland and Ukraine.

The qualifying format for the upcoming World Cup, set to take place in Brazil, mirrors that of the Nations League, divided into three tiers. Only the four group winners in League A will earn automatic qualification, while the rest will need to reach the finals through playoffs for the remaining eight spots.

“This is a demanding group, but our primary goal is to qualify for the World Cup. This is our complete focus moving forward. We hope our fans will support us in taking another step closer to Brazil at Wembley in April,” Wiegman added.

Details regarding venues and ticket information for England’s other two home matches will be released in due course.

Upcoming fixtures include:
