Kheira Hamraoui, the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, has lodged a claim for €3.5 million (£3.08 million) against the club, asserting that she was effectively forced out following a violent assault involving an iron bar.

In November 2021, Hamraoui was attacked by two masked assailants who dragged her from a vehicle after she returned home from a team dinner, with her then-teammate Aminata Diallo serving as the driver. Diallo, who was competing for the same position in the PSG lineup, was subsequently arrested and charged for allegedly orchestrating the attack on Hamraoui.

Following this incident, Hamraoui has now alleged that she experienced “moral harassment” from certain PSG players. Her attorney, Pascal-Pierre Garbarini, presented evidence in an employment tribunal in Paris indicating that forwards Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani intentionally refrained from passing the ball to her during matches.

Garbarini emphasized that Hamraoui faced ostracism not only on the pitch but also in the locker room, in the stands, and across social media platforms. “What did PSG do? Nothing!” he declared during the proceedings.

Hamraoui is pursuing damages for the alleged moral harassment, failure to uphold security obligations, and loss of opportunity, among other claims against the club. In contrast, PSG’s attorney, Benjamin Louzier, contended that Hamraoui has not provided a medical certificate to substantiate her claims of harassment and had failed to communicate her concerns to PSG or the employees’ council.

The tribunal is anticipated to announce its verdict in mid-December. Additionally, six other individuals have been charged in connection with the assault on Hamraoui, alongside Diallo. In February 2025, prosecutors completed their investigation, but the judicial case remains ongoing.

Currently, the 35-year-old Hamraoui, who has represented France internationally, plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia and has previously featured for clubs such as Barcelona, Lyon, and Saint-Etienne.

The hearing on Monday was attended by a full audience, coinciding with another employment dispute involving PSG and former player Kylian Mbappe.
