Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney have achieved three wins and one defeat since assuming interim management in October.

The duo will continue to lead Celtic on a temporary basis while the search for a new manager progresses. O’Neill, who managed Celtic from 2000 to 2005, alongside former player Maloney, has presided over four games following the resignation of Brendan Rodgers.

Wilfried Nancy, the head coach of Columbus Crew, has been prominently linked to the managerial position; however, the latest updates indicate that O’Neill will remain in charge for the upcoming Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren in Paisley, scheduled for 20:00 GMT on Saturday.

“If there’s not an announcement in the next few days, then I’m happy to continue for the weekend game against St Mirren,” O’Neill shared with Celtic TV.

He emphasized, “First and foremost, we want the players returning from international duties to be injury-free, which is crucial given our current injury challenges. We would be glad to have a squad similar to what we had for the Kilmarnock match, but we can only work with what we have and aim to perform at our best. Let’s see what the upcoming days bring.”

Following Saturday’s match, Celtic will face Feyenoord in the Europa League on November 27, followed by league fixtures against Hibernian on November 30, Dundee on December 3, and Hearts on December 7. The team will host Roma in the Europa League on December 11, leading up to the Premier Sports Cup final against St Mirren on Sunday, December 14.
