On Sunday, LaLiga’s prominent stars gathered at Bernabéu Stadium for a historic NFL matchup between the Washington Commanders and the Miami Dolphins. This event marked a significant milestone in NFL history, being the inaugural regular-season game held in Spain.

The Bernabéu Stadium underwent a remarkable transformation, showcasing the pride of Real Madrid.

Prior to the kickoff, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and former coach Zinedine Zidane were joined by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the president of the Community of Madrid, and José Luis Martínez Almeida, the mayor of Madrid. They posed for photographs and exchanged warm greetings, with Zidane honored to perform the ceremonial coin toss.

Current Atletico Madrid players Antoine Griezmann, a known American sports enthusiast, and Koke were also in attendance, along with Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger. Former Madrid forward Marco Asensio, who now plays for Fenerbahçe, joined the festivities as well.

The event also saw the presence of Madrid legends Iker Casillas and Guti, both retired, who took the opportunity to reconnect. Casillas shared a warm moment with Mexican legend Memo Ochoa during the game.

The halftime show featured performances by musical artists Daddy Yankee and Bizarrap. This game was the NFL’s seventh and final international matchup of the season, with plans for next year’s event to take place in Mexico City.

The Dolphins emerged victorious in a thrilling overtime finish, defeating the Commanders 16-13, thanks to a 29-yard field goal by Riley Patterson. Additionally, Dolphins star Jack Jones celebrated a pivotal interception in a unique fashion, imitating Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic “SIU” celebration.

Overall, it was a memorable day for all involved.
