LaLiga’s prominent figures gathered for the NFL matchup between the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins at the Bernabéu Stadium on Sunday, marking a significant milestone as the first regular-season NFL game held in Spain.

The iconic Bernabéu underwent a remarkable transformation in anticipation of the event, showcasing the pride of Real Madrid.

Prior to the game, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez and former coach Zinedine Zidane met with Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, and José Luis Martínez Almeida, the mayor of Madrid. The group shared light-hearted conversations and posed for photographs, with Zidane serving as the NFL’s guest of honor to perform the coin toss.

In attendance were several current players, including Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid, a known enthusiast of American sports, and Koke. Also present was Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger, along with former Madrid forward Marco Asensio, who currently plays for Fenerbahçe.

The event welcomed notable retired legends, including Iker Casillas and Guti, who took the opportunity to reconnect. Casillas was also able to meet with Mexican football legend Memo Ochoa, leading to a heartwarming exchange between the two goalkeepers.

The halftime show featured outstanding performances by musical artists Daddy Yankee and Bizarrap. This game marked the seventh and final international game of the NFL season, with plans for the league to head to Mexico City next year.

The Dolphins emerged victorious in a thrilling overtime finish, defeating the Commanders 16-13 with a decisive 29-yard field goal by Riley Patterson. In a memorable moment, Dolphins star Jack Jones celebrated a crucial interception by emulating Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic “SIU” celebration.

It was indeed a remarkable day for all attendees.
