Tim Kleindienst, the captain of Borussia Mönchengladbach and striker for the German national team, is making significant strides towards his return from injury. The 30-year-old player officially resumed training with Gladbach on Monday, although a timeline for his return to the Bundesliga remains uncertain.

The club has placed considerable faith in Kleindienst since he underwent meniscus surgery over six months ago, which sidelined him. During his recovery, he has been appointed as the club captain and has also secured a contract extension.

Despite facing considerable administrative changes, including the departures of head coach Gerardo Seoane and sporting director Roland Virkus earlier this year, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s performance has improved. Interim head coach Eugen Polanski has guided the team to three consecutive victories.

Given Polanski’s recent successes, he is likely to receive a permanent appointment in the near future. There is no urgent need to rush Kleindienst back into the lineup, especially since replacement forward Haris Tabakovic has demonstrated impressive form, scoring four goals during the last three matches.

The nature of Kleindienst’s injury had previously led the club to rule him out until the end of this month. Additionally, he will not have the chance to represent the German national team until March.
