Niclas Füllkrug Set to Depart West Ham United Amidst Transfer Speculation

Niclas Füllkrug is poised to leave West Ham United in January, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Since joining the Premier League side in 2024, the German forward has faced difficulties securing a consistent starting position. Over 27 appearances, the 32-year-old has managed to score three goals and provide two assists.

Currently, Füllkrug is recovering from a torn muscle injury but is anticipated to make his return later this month. Given the news of his impending exit, it seems unlikely that head coach Nuno Espírito Santo will heavily rely on him in the upcoming matches.

The question now is where Füllkrug will go to regain regular playing time. Although specific clubs have yet to be confirmed, it is reported that his representatives are in talks with several Bundesliga teams, as well as a few clubs beyond Germany.

A return to the Bundesliga appears to be the most logical move for Füllkrug. Potential destinations include Hamburger SV and VfL Wolfsburg, both of which are in need of a striker this winter. Additionally, Heidenheim, currently at the bottom of the league, would also welcome the opportunity, though financial constraints may pose a challenge in meeting his wage demands.
