Benjamin Sesko to Miss Everton Match but Expected Back for December FixturesBenjamin Sesko to Miss Everton Match but Expected Back for December Fixtures

Benjamin Sesko will not participate in Manchester United’s Premier League match against Everton on Monday, according to sources from ESPN. However, the striker is projected to recover from his injury in time for the Christmas fixture schedule.

Sesko sustained a knee injury during the recent 2-2 draw with Tottenham prior to the international break. He subsequently withdrew from international duty with Slovenia to receive treatment at Carrington, under the care of United’s medical staff.

Initial scans indicated that there was no major injury, but follow-up evaluations suggested that Sesko will be sidelined for a limited period, with optimism that he may return in December.

As a result of his injury, the former RB Leipzig forward will miss the upcoming match against Everton at Old Trafford.

Manchester United has one remaining fixture in November against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on November 30, before a busy December schedule that includes six matches.

Ruben Amorim’s team will face West Ham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Wolves again before the year concludes.

Since joining from Germany, Sesko has netted two goals in 12 appearances. His absence is expected to allow Bryan Mbeumo to take the lead in Amorim’s attacking trio, as Mbeumo has scored six goals in 12 matches following his own summer transfer from Brentford.

Furthermore, Sesko’s injury might influence Joshua Zirkzee’s prospects, as the Dutch forward is considering a potential move away from Old Trafford in January to secure more playing time and enhance his chances of making the Netherlands squad for next summer’s World Cup.

Reports suggest that Roma is among the clubs interested in acquiring the 24-year-old Zirkzee. Nonetheless, the uncertainty surrounding Sesko’s fitness raises questions about whether Amorim would permit his only other recognized center forward to depart midway through the season.

In addition, Manchester United expects to attract interest in midfielder Kobbie Mainoo when the transfer window opens on January 1. The England international is also seeking more playing time in preparation for the World Cup, with Napoli reportedly keen on signing him.
