Ronaldo s Strong Ties with Saudi Leadership and Global InfluenceRonaldo s Strong Ties with Saudi Leadership and Global Influence

Cristiano Ronaldo’s connection with the Saudi government has long been a topic of scrutiny. Recent developments, however, have underscored the strong ties between the renowned footballer and the Saudi leadership. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo referred to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) as “our boss,” a statement that further emphasizes this relationship. Additionally, a recent meeting at the White House seems to reinforce these connections.

U.S. President Donald Trump has actively pursued relationships with significant figures in the world of soccer. Notably, FIFA President Gianni Infantino attended Trump’s inauguration, and Trump presented the trophy to Chelsea following their victory in the Club World Cup last summer. The two have also participated in numerous joint press conferences at the White House.

Ronaldo has engaged with President Trump as well. In July, Trump received a signed jersey from the Portuguese star, inscribed with the message, “To President Donald J. Trump, Playing for Peace.” Ronaldo expressed a desire to discuss global issues with the President, stating: “He is one of the guys who can help to change the world. One of the most important figures is the U.S. President. If we can help each other to make this happen… He is someone I wish to meet for a meaningful conversation. Whether here or in the U.S., wherever he prefers, I know he was recently in Saudi Arabia with our boss, MBS. I hope to meet him one day.”

Following the reported meeting with Trump, Ronaldo is scheduled to return to Saudi Arabia as his team, Al-Nassr, prepares to host Al-Khaleej. Currently, he ranks second in the league’s scoring charts with nine goals.
