ORLANDO, Fla. — Haley Carter, the vice president of soccer operations and sporting director for the Orlando Pride, has announced her resignation to explore new career opportunities, as confirmed by the team on Tuesday.

Carter has been an integral part of the team for the past three seasons, during which the Pride secured an NWSL championship and added talented players like Barbra Banda and Lizbeth Ovalle to their roster.

In a statement, Pride owner Mark Wilf commended Carter’s contributions, emphasizing her pivotal role in establishing the Pride as one of the elite clubs in the NWSL and globally.

“We have initiated a thorough and systematic search for a new soccer leader who will have the opportunity to collaborate with a championship-caliber roster and coaching staff,” Wilf stated. “With our clear vision for the future and a positive club culture, I am confident that the Pride is well-positioned to maintain its trajectory of success.”

Under Carter’s leadership, the Pride clinched the NWSL Shield and the league championship in 2024. The team reached the playoff semifinals this year before being eliminated by Gotham FC last weekend.

Carter will assist the club during the transition period, expressing her gratitude for the Wilf Family’s continued investment in the team. “Their commitment, both on and off the field, reflects a genuine belief in the Pride’s potential and in the future of women’s soccer,” she remarked.
