Castello Lukeba has solidified his position as a vital component of RB Leipzig’s defense, having successfully navigated a challenging injury that sidelined him for ten Bundesliga matches last season.

Despite being contracted until 2029, Lukeba’s future remains a topic of speculation, with several top European clubs keeping a close eye on the promising 22-year-old. In an exclusive interview with Bild, he shared insights about his aspirations and current situation.

Lukeba emphasized his commitment to RB Leipzig, stating, “My goal is to get back into Europe with Leipzig. Watching the Champions League on TV is extremely painful for me.”

He conveyed a focused mindset, adding, “I’m not thinking any further ahead than that. We must remain concentrated. The season is long, and last year we started well but encountered significant challenges.”

When asked about his dreams, Lukeba articulated his ambitions: “My dream is to become a world champion or to win the Champions League someday. I don’t aspire to play for a specific club. Instead, I dream of winning titles, as those are the moments you cherish most at the end of your career.”

This season, Lukeba has featured in nine of Leipzig’s ten Bundesliga matches, contributing to the team’s strong performance as they currently sit in second place. Prior to their Matchday 10 loss against Hoffenheim, the club had recorded seven victories and one draw in their previous eight league outings.
