Eberechi Eze Reflects on His Arsenal Journey and the Influence of Mikel ArtetaEberechi Eze Reflects on His Arsenal Journey and the Influence of Mikel Arteta

Eberechi Eze has made a significant transition from Crystal Palace to Arsenal in a £60 million move, marking a pivotal moment in a summer of considerable investment by the Gunners. Alongside Eze, Arsenal also acquired notable talents such as Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and Cristhian Mosquera. Since joining, Eze has quickly adapted to his new environment, regularly featuring for Mikel Arteta’s squad and already finding the net twice in the Premier League.

In a candid discussion with former teammate Adebayo Akinfenwa on the latest episode of GOAL’s Beast Mode On podcast, Eze shared insights about his journey to becoming a star at Arsenal and representing England. He remarked, “Everyone is sort of what you expect them to be. The expectation of all the players is high. I’ll say one player who has gone even beyond the high expectation I already had – because I’d heard good things about him – was Jurrien Timber. He’s a special player and a special guy.”

Eze emphasized the positive environment at Arsenal, stating, “In an environment of people with a culture geared towards improvement, these guys all want to enhance their game. It’s a pleasure to be part of it and to witness individuals like him perform and carry themselves so well. It’s inspiring, for sure.”

He also expressed his thoughts on working under Mikel Arteta. With Arsenal currently four points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League and leading in the 2025-26 Champions League, Eze commented on Arteta’s coaching style: “He’s incredible. The attention to detail and the rapid pace at which I’m learning under him is remarkable. I know the type of player I’ll become with his guidance. The culture he’s created here makes this a special place to be right now.”
