Ezequiel Garay Reflects on His Departure from ValenciaEzequiel Garay Reflects on His Departure from Valencia

omidbasir- Ezequiel Garay has not forgotten his experiences at Valencia. The Argentine center-back, who faced significant challenges during his exit from the club, provides clarity on the events that transpired. He asserts that his knee ligament injury was merely an excuse for Anil Murthy to terminate his contract. In an interview on Cafelito with Josep Pedrerol, Garay, now a padel entrepreneur, reflects on the situation and offers insightful comments.

Garay expressed, “I hope Lim leaves for the club’s sake… the evidence is clear; he is not improving the situation. I was abandoned for not agreeing with the decision to sack Marcelino.”

Discussing his relationship with Valencia, he stated, “I have a deep affection for the fans and the community; they treated me very well. Many individuals within the club were also supportive, which is why I do not wish to see them relegated. Excluding those at the top, of course, many people at the club were kind to me. There is a significant issue that will not change until the leadership departs. My injury was used as a pretext to let me go, and it pains me that I was left behind.”

Regarding his dismissal, Garay remarked, “We qualified for the Champions League for two consecutive years and even won the Copa del Rey against Messi and Luis Suárez’s Barcelona. Yet the following year, he began to dismiss individuals he disliked, with me being the first. I was not released due to my injury; it was because I disagreed with Marcelino’s dismissal and was not afraid to voice my concerns.”
