In the podcast KieftJansenEgmondGijp, Wim Kieft suggested that Verbeek’s appointment is not entirely out of the question, stating, “Could he really become the new coach of Ajax? His name has been mentioned in various discussions.”

Verbeek himself has recently been linked to Heracles Almelo, where he provided insights on his conversations with the club’s supervisory board during an interview with De Oosttribune. He remarked, “I have spoken with the supervisory board regarding my perspective on the club. They are also considering other candidates, as there are several individuals connected to the club who have a strong affinity for Heracles. They are currently deliberating on their options, I believe.”
